The REALTOR® Code of Ethics training requirement of the National Association of REALTORS® requires members to complete Ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time every three years. The current cycle ends Dec. 31, 2024.
The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by NAR. Training may be completed through NAR’s online courses or through another method, such as online or classroom courses via local/state associations.

Note: The 70/30 CE Exemption Rule (Business and Professions Code Section 10170.8) allows California licensees to avoid renewal CE education when they submit satisfactory evidence to the DRE Commissioner that:
They are age 70 or older on or before the expiration date of their license; and
Their license has been in continuous good standing for at least 30 years.
NAR has a similar exemption called a REALTOR Emeritus member. NAR requires for our members (i.e., the NAR Code of Ethics course). The only members exempt from the Ethics requirement are REALTOR® Emeritus members.
